Grace presents Desktop, an exhibition by Elijah Broughton.
Elijah Broughton (b. Christchurch) is an artist based in Tāmaki Makaurau. He holds a BFA (First Class Honours) from Massey University. His work explores memory, translation, and authenticity through sculpture and photography, tracing the desires that surface in images and everyday materials. Working with recurring motifs and formal structures, he examines moments of transition, disappearance, and encounter. Recently, he built a darkroom in his studio, where he has been experimenting with analogue photography and hand-printing to develop new bodies of work.
Broughton’s recent exhibitions include: Platform (Envy, 2023); Duel (RM, 2024); Leavers (Grace, 2025); Strawhouse @ Envy (Envy, 2025); Kitty (Strawhouse, 2026); and Flush (Treadler, 2026).
